How do I find out what liens are on my house in DuPage county IL?

Easy.... go to town hall or the municipal building where records are kept. Usually the clerk will help you search the land records if you are the owner. In principal all land records are public and can be searched by anyone. In most areas the records are available on-line as well. A good thing to know would be whether your state is a 'recorded lien' state or not -- meaning that if a lien has not been recorded it has no effect and as far as anyone is concerned, does not exist. It's true in most, but not all states. A good place to start even before town hall, is to read your original deed and title search (from when you bought the house). This will have any pre-existing liens and encumberances, especially easements from utilities, etc.
